Benedito Luiz Amauro, (re)known as Mestre Lumumba, son of the orisha Ogum. Musician, composer, historian, poet, playwright and actor.

In 1973, with the expansion and growing organization of the Black Movement in Brazil, the Evolution Theatre Group was formed in the city of Campinas, in the interior of the state of São Paulo.

He was part of the formation of one of the first Brazilian reggae bands, Arembepe. He has released several solo and collective musical works.

In the 1980s, he joined the Brotherhood of Ilú Drummers with Mestre Didi.

In 1987, in partnership with Yalorixá Nadya Sant'Anna, he founded the Ilê Asè Omò Ayé African Cultural Religious Community.

Currently, Mestre Lumumba is preparing the anthology of his more than fifty years of work in music, organizing his compositions, recovering the memory of his 400 musical lyrics, poems and stories for the launch of his new work.
