Ateliê da Cena
Ateliê da Cena
An independent project that promotes theater classes dedicated to children and young people. The classes are based on experimenting with theatrical poetics, practiced through games, improvisations, character building and collective creations. It is from this knowledge that we create and weave stories collectively. At the end of the year, the idea is to present a play for families and friends.
The project was conceived by artist-educators Isabel Wolfenson and Laura Mansur in 2021, in the midst of the pandemic. The aim was to dream again and invent new worlds with the children. The meetings began in the square and, since 2022, classes have been held at Condô Cultural.
In 2023, there were partnerships for the performances, so that the children could experience theater with lights, an aisle and an audience. They took place at Espaço 28 and Instituto Brincante.
In 2024, there are two new additions: we welcomed Gabriela Mafud as our collaborator, an artist-educator who will lead the classes with Isabel Wolfenson. And, in addition to the drama classes, which take place once a week for two hours, there is a desire to coordinate outings to watch children's and young people's shows together, broadening the imagination, knowledge of the various possibilities of theatrical language and creating bonds outside the rehearsal classroom.
Theater in childhood is a support for children to get to know themselves, to get to know others, to know how to talk about themselves through art and also to form a more collective and sensitive view of the world.
