She began studying art at the Bahia School of Art at the age of 6. She studied architecture and simultaneously followed the Fine Arts course at the School of Fine Arts of the Federal University of Bahia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since 1990 she has been researching African and Afro-Brazilian aesthetics, a universe in which she became immersed and which led her, between 1992 and 2000, to exhibit Yoruba candombl\u00e9 liturgical tools in museums and galleries in New York.
