Rádio Xakriabá 87.9 – Communication and Culture, was launches on January 24, 2015. Youth plays a fundamental role in radio, being responsible for carrying out most of the programming. He plays music from inside, made by the Xakriabá people, and music from outside, the music of fashion, products of the cultural industry, widely disseminated on radio and city parties. All leaders who return from external activities representing the Xakriabá share their experiences on the radio, socializing information and referrals.
The events of collective interest held at the Casa de Cultura are broadcast on the radio, which means that all villages are informed about relevant issues. Meetings on indigenous education and assembly of indigenous leaders have already been broadcast. People who visit the space also always give interviews on the radio, which is on the left bank of the São Francisco River, in the Xacriabá Indigenous Area, in the municipality of São João das Missões- MG.
