Interviewee: Erika Malunguinho
Brazilian educator, artist and politician. She was born and raised in Pernambuco, in a family of organic activists who believed in institutional politics as an important position for building a project for a just society. In 2018, she was elected to the state legislature as the first transgender woman in the São Paulo Legislative Assembly. She holds a master's degree in aesthetics and art history from USP, and is the creator of Quilombo Urbano Aparelha Luzia, a space to promote artistic and intellectual production in the São Paulo capital.
