Raonize the Cities
Environment Week
June 1st to 5th, 2022
MURAL IN MANAUS by Raiz
The first city to be "Raonized" was Manaus, which, due to its prominence in the Amazon region, received a large colourful mural, custom-made by the artist and muralist RAIZ, 19m wide and 4m high. The 76m² mural was completed on June 1, 2022, opening the actions.
The mural was shared on the networks by the various partners involved, by the artist RAIZ. Watch the video of the process:
LAMBES by Raul Zito and Matsi Metuktire
The creation of the lambes was a collective process that began during the artivist residency at Condô Cultural in March 2022, when the artivists Matsi (Raoni's grandson) and Zito made some artwork together and one of them was this one with Raoni and the phrase:
"The future is indigenous"
The final version of the lambe was 2m wide by 3m high, and included a speech by Raoni in the language spoken by the Mebengokre, which was translated into Portuguese and placed on a second, smaller lambe attached (A1), which was always glued next to the main one.
COLLECTIVES and ORGANIZATIONS from all over BR
as well as dozens of freelance activists and volunteers, pasted the lambes!
