A Open House is Condô Cultural's annual event, a time for sharing, socializing and collective celebration. During this period, the doors of the house and each studio open to welcome the public and share a little of the research, work and processes that run through Condô's daily life throughout the year.

Upon opening its doors, the Open House creates a meeting place for artists, educators and the community. It's a celebration of life and collectivity, with an intense and free program for all ages.

Every issue, we collectively decided on the theme that would guide the actions and reflections around the Open House, This theme outlines what we build creatively during the year.

The program includes exhibitions, studio visits, theater, music and performance presentations, film screenings, educational activities, gastronomic experiences and the sale of artists' products in the Condô shop. The program also includes Indigenous Art Point, This initiative supports the struggle of indigenous peoples through a fixed point of sale for the creations of indigenous artists and craftspeople from different ethnic groups in Brazil.

In each edition, around 60 artists, creators, producers and technicians participate directly in the event, which welcomes an average of 300 people.

The history of Open House accompanies Condô Cultural's own trajectory. From the first years of occupying the space, the desire to open the doors and share processes was already present in actions such as the Cultural Picnic, held in 2010, and the Condô Art Exhibitions, which began in 2014. In 2019, the event will officially be called Open House, It has become a fundamental part of Condô Cultural's annual program.

We invite you to browse through the records of the latest editions and feel a little of the beautiful energy that runs through the Open House.

OPEN HOUSE 2025 - Ordinary time

casa aberta 2025 tempo comum

Here we are again, opening the house to share our space-time based on the walls, on the pulse of our presence, on the inconstancy of each little brick, on the calluses on our hands, on the mixture of bodies that tell and write the stories of this common house.

Debut! Debuting in the incarnate young body, bringing the memory of our concrete ancestors - from the hospital to the maternity hospital to the abandoned space - remade into an ecocultural point, a place of welcome and coexistence. Fifteen years of C O N D, This is a place where people instill art in this space born in Vila Anglo. With its contamination zones, pandemic scars, radio waves, ways of birding, and dreaming together, and making toró.

A common gesture, right from pregnancy: d i l a t e r .

To open cracks in the against the grain of time, the eater of people. Saying goodbye to the clockwork man and moving forward with the grains of sand in an hourglass, which flow and give way to emptiness. Stretched silences, elastic times, pots without lids, natural fermentation. Between bumps, the hours of carelessness, hugs, mango baths, Ademir's bonfire, rain in the yard.

Here, time brings its grill and has the vocation of a woman. It's a woman-vinyl, her lap expanded, spinning, spinning on the record player. Redrawing the lines of an unrepeatable record, establishing rhythms, cadence and affectations. Refining the flavor of this broth of coexistence that, with its ways of caring, spreads through every crack and fissure, every furrow - watermark - that runs down the lines of a disk or geographical river, mapping the memories of our plural bodies that converge on this space woven in coexistence with the lines of our own. time with a.

 OPEN HOUSE 2024 - Onironautas

It all started with a lucid dream,

a woman's body that flies low over the field, but flies close,

because he's afraid he won't return to his physical body lying in bed.

A dream that emerged at the Condô and was told to everyone around the lunch table.

In the everyday simplicity of home,

we cultivate moments of meeting and sharing,

where the dream world and the concrete universe touch, intertwine.

Dreaming, being lucid, aware of what you're dreaming, experiencing dreams, navigating them

like the Argonauts in uncharted waters.

We are Onironauts, dangerous dreamers,

embarked together on a ship,

exploring the beauty of shared dreams.

A dream that makes new realities come true,

just like the spaceship-seed, it just waits for the right moment to sprout.

OPEN HOUSE 2022 - We, the birds

On the day December 11, 2022 (Sunday), we opened our doors to the public with a

an intense program of artistic, social and environmental activities for all ages. The event will take place from 9am to 9pm and is completely free, with suggestions for contributions.

The Cultural Association's headquarters, which functions as a center for coexistence and dialogue, with artists“ studios and cultural experiences, was closed to major creative actions for three years due to the pandemic. After this period of deep mourning and political struggles on behalf of culture, education and the environment, the house reopens in a mood of celebration and hope with the theme ”We, birds“. When thinking about what this year's Open House should express, a common feeling was quickly mapped out among the people associated with Condô. ”We wanted something that represented the strength of hope, of kindness, of the collective, the strength of the struggle we've been waging in recent years in Brazil,“ says Géssica Arjona, director of Condô Cultural. From this conversation came ”Nós, pássinho", symbolizing the playful force of life and nature in the face of the harsh rules dictated by a society sickened by the economic system.

During the event, nine of Condô's fifteen studios will be open for visitors, as well as the common spaces and the vast backyard. The program will include an exhibition, Eutonia sessions, Café Caipira, environmental activities for children, a clown show, a live concert and film screenings, among other activities.
