Open House 2025 - Ordinary Time

 casa aberta 2025 tempo comum

time with a

Here we are again, opening the house to share our space-time based on the walls, on the pulse of our presence, on the inconstancy of each little brick, on the calluses on our hands, on the mixture of bodies that tell and write the stories of this common house.

Debut! A debut in the incarnate young body, bringing the memory of our concrete ancestors - from the hospital to the maternity hospital to the abandoned space - remade into an ecocultural point, a place of welcome and coexistence. Fifteen years of C O N D Ô, of people instilling art in this space born in Vila Anglo. With its contamination zones, pandemic scars, radio waves, ways of birding, dreaming together, and making toró.

A common gesture, right from gestation: d i l a t a r .

To open cracks in the against the grain of time, the eater of people. Saying goodbye to the clockwork man and moving forward with the grains of sand in an hourglass, which flow and give way to emptiness. Stretched silences, elastic times, pots without lids, natural fermentation. Between bumps, the hours of carelessness, hugs, mango baths, Ademir's bonfire, rain in the yard.

Here, time brings its grill and has the vocation of a woman. She's a vinyl-woman, her lap expanded, spinning, spinning on the record player. Redrawing the lines of an unrepeatable record, establishing rhythms, cadence and affectations. Refining the flavor of this broth of coexistence that, with its ways of caring, spreads through every crack and crevice, every furrow - watermark - that runs down the lines of a disc or geographical river, mapping the memories of our plural bodies that converge on this space woven in coexistence with the lines of our time together.

For those who want to start meditating or loosen up their drawing.

Listening to the flows of a new year

with Maíra Gerstner

A new year is approaching and a desire for renewal often presents itself too. How do we listen to the flows that life reveals to us? And how do we mobilize concrete possibilities in the face of the dreams that inhabit us? Starting with meditative practices aimed at listening to the body and some artistic propositions involved with listening to the subtle, we will map out what we are looking for and hoping for in a new cycle of our lives.

Botany without shame

with Anderson Santos

The meeting was born out of the publication Botânica Sem Vergonha (Botany Without Shame), a project by Fernanda and Carol that investigates how the history of science, especially botany, has been erased and distorted over time. These include the silencing of women who contributed to the construction of scientific knowledge and the permanence of popular plant names marked by sexist connotations.

It will be an open, critical and light-hearted conversation, so that we can think together:
- how certain discourses have shaped the way we look at plants;
- why so much female knowledge has been made invisible;
- and how to recover other possible narratives - broader, fairer and more plural.

The meeting lasts 1.5 hours, is free and open to anyone who wants to reflect on science, language, culture and nature.

Come and take part, listen and pave the way for a more diverse and unashamed botany.

Zen DeZenho with poetry

with Carol Lefèvre and Flavia Yumi Sakai

We will practice meditation through drawing and poetry, an encounter with the present moment.
In the silence of the line and in the synthesis of words, the instant reveals itself - looking, feeling and expressing become a single gesture.

In this workshop, we combine Zazen (Zen meditation), observation drawing and poetry to train mindfulness and capture reality as it is: ephemeral, present, alive.
The practice invites us to see and record the moment with simplicity and truth - whether through the line that is born in the hand or through poetic writing.

For those who want to start meditating or let their creativity run wild.
No previous experience necessary.

If you're looking for presence and authentic expression, come along.

Spaceship Gaia: a conversation

with Bia Tadema and Anderson Santos

We invite you to a screening of an excerpt from the conversation ‘Nave Gaia’, between Ailton Krenak and Antônio Nobre, followed by a round table discussion with Bia Tadema and Anderson Santos. It will be a space to exchange reflections on the times we live in - and what it means to keep learning from the Earth.

About the film Nave Gaia In the conversation between indigenous thinker Ailton Krenak and climate scientist Antônio Nobre, we are invited to look at the planetary crisis not just as a problem to be solved, but as a profound symptom of the separation between humanity and nature.Krenak invites us to remember that the Earth is alive, that it is a body of which we are a part, and that the future cannot be built with knowledge alone. Antônio Nobre, on the other hand, brings a scientific perspective, showing how forests - especially the Amazon - are intelligent climate regulation systems, “flying rivers” that sustain life on the planet.Between the two, a rare conversation emerges: science and ancestry meet, not as opposites, but as complementary expressions of the same wisdom - that of recognizing the Earth as mother, teacher and sacred organism.

Gracias a la mañana - Latin experiments

with Tânia Murakami and Rosa Espiral

Gracias a la mañana is an experimental sound encounter that traverses the many layers of our Latinities.

Between flutes, piano, charango and guitar, we weave landscapes that carry body, movement and ancestry. A ritual of listening and presence, where tradition and invention embrace, making room for improvisation, affection and celebration.

This show is an invitation to new listenings, based on the artists' references, invoking the living sound of a multiple, mestizo and infinite Latin America.

The Majesty of Samba

The project revisits a repertoire of sambas that, from the 1970s onwards, opened the doors of the genre to the record label market at the time, with great success, consolidating popular inventiveness and the boundaries of samba as a universal Brazilian musical genre, giving voice to an immeasurable wealth of composers and interpreters, beyond any borders.

At the time, the members of the musical group: Vanderlei Bernardino (vocals); Pedro Aguerre (vocals and guitar); César Lopes (percussion) and Rubens Nunes (cavaquinho) were children and teenagers. Thus, the repertoire emerges from the emotional memory of a generation while at the same time recovering classics by singers and composers for a new audience today.
