Eneida Sanches

He began studying art at the Bahia School of Art at the age of 6. She studied architecture and simultaneously followed the Fine Arts course at the School of Fine Arts of the Federal University of Bahia. Since 1990 she has been researching African and Afro-Brazilian aesthetics, a universe in which she became immersed and which led her, between 1992 and 2000, to exhibit Yoruba candomblé liturgical tools in museums and galleries in New York. From then on, she presented works related to the theme of trance and began to use etching in an expanded field, both as a structure and as a concept, in objects and installations. He won the prize at the XXIV MAM Bahia Art Salon and took part in residencies in Holland, Portugal, Tanzania and the United States.

In 2019 she took part in the exhibition Strategies of the Feminine, at the Santander Lighthouse in Porto Alegre. In 2020, she will take part in the 12th edition of the Mercosur Biennial, which will be held online, and the 24th Anapolino Visual Arts Salon. She is the current Pedagogical Artistic Director of Condô Cultural.
