Daniela Avelar
Daniela Avelar (São Paulo, 1988) is an artist, writer and educator. With a PhD and a master's degree in visual arts, she investigates literary instruments as appropriation, use and recontextualization based on self-imposed restrictions in installations, publications, videos and actions. She has participated in the SACO International Biennial of Contemporary Art (2023), Chile and in residencies in Haukijärvi, Finland ("Enter Text" - Arteles Creative Center, 2019), Flip - Paraty International Literary Festival (Casa do Papel, 2017) and Courants du Monde, Paris (French Ministry of Culture and Communication, 2013). She teaches courses on writing and is the educational curator of exhibitions such as Lamento das imagens - Alfredo Jaar (2021) and Arte-veículo (2018), Sesc Pompeia, São Paulo and, 22nd Bienal Sesc_Videobrasil, Sesc 24 de Maio (2023-24).
