Modern dance, movement and expression workshop with Paula D' Ajello

About the workshop

The aim is to improve awareness of movement through perception and investigation of the design of gestures in time and space, awakening the potential for expression through dance. The work is based on the movement principles of Modern Dance, especially the Limón Technique, as well as the fundamentals of Pilates and Somatic Education present in the Feldenkrais method, and the Laban-Bartenieff system of Movement Awareness and Mastery.

Starting from breathing associated with movement; the use of weight as an impulse for actions; and the mobility and support of the motor center; we will explore the dynamics of joint sequencing; falling and suspension; pendulum and swing; as well as transfers of support when moving through space.
Through combinations of movements that are repeated, we can investigate the opposing lines of gestures in space, as well as the rhythm, pulse and pauses in the timing of movements.
The aim is to improve the perception of one's own body and the mastery of movements, offering tools to awaken the expression that manifests itself through dance.
In addition, we will study in practice the relationship between the principles of modern dance and the construction of the Pilates method and all the work that permeates the Pilates class project. body are.
